A Cake for Mama Parent and Teacher Guide

To surprise Mama on Mother’s Day, Jad and Tala work together to bake Mama’s favorite cake.

They prepare all the needed ingredients like butter, eggs, sugar, and flour. After they mix all the ingredients Dad puts them in the electric mixer and then into the oven.When Mama comes back from her university, she smells the aroma of orange cake and knows there is a surprise for her. Jad gives her the present he made in school especially for her.

Tala sings her a song she made up. But when they all start eating the cake, they notice that it tastes strange. Mama guesses that Jad and Tala put salt instead of sugar in the cake by mistake.

When Jad says Tala is to blame, she starts crying. Dad tries to comfort Tala by telling her and Jad that mistakes sometimes happen and we learn from them. He then tells them how as a child he once put salt in his parent’s coffee instead of sugar. Luckily there is ice-cream in the fridge. They all sit in the garden happily eating ice-cream.
